The Silver Linings of Hopeless Situations

Listen to audio version

http://hopeless.jusmcc.net

You’ve probably said it yourself and didn’t really believe it:  the old saying that behind every dark cloud, there is a silver lining.  It’s hard to have much faith in that advice when that cloud is dumping buckets of rain on your parade.  But, sure enough, it wasn’t long until the rain stopped and you were walking in sunshine again.

It’s the same with hopeless situations.  We’ve all faced them when we know we’re going to lose or fail at something very important to us.  It could be your business, a marriage, just a board game or a game of cards.

You’re playing your best, but no matter what you do losing is inevitable.  Everything you did seemed right at the time and by the time you discover your mistakes, it’s too late. First of all, it’s never too late until the game of life deals you the death card.

The game of Monopoly can be a perfect teacher of how to play your life.  We roll the dice, land on the right properties and make the right buys.  But, somehow other players bought better properties and built bigger hotels and stayed out of jail.  No matter what you did you kept paying their rent and fines and had to mortgage your valuable holdings just to stay afloat.

Playing at life can be a losing battle at times too.  You’re doing all the right things, you budget, plan for the future but failure comes anyway.  No matter what you do it all leads to the same outcome like a bad dream where you’re moving in slow motion and you plod to the finish line that says loser.

You may be faced with a hopeless situation at this very moment and you’ve contemplated taking a long walk on a short pier.  Hey, it’s okay to lose if you turn those losses into gains!

If you realize there is no way to win, learn from your past mistakes, dust yourself off and try again.  If you see you’re going to lose, stop playing to win and start playing to learn.  It’s when you learn that you win.

You’ve probably been focused on the long term gain and failed to see the mistakes you kept making in the past.  When you play to learn there’s always some measure of victory.  Just like in Monopoly, you learn from each roll of the dice.

Analyze your past moves and see where you could have done better so you don’t make the same mistakes again.  There is always another roll of the dice and always another game to play.

Playing the game again doesn’t guarantee a win but it guarantees another learning opportunity.  You may learn you lack basic skills to ever win until you master them.  If you’re stuck in this situation find a way to get out of it and move forward.  Know that you can’t undo the past mistakes so don’t get stressed out over them.  Use them as stepping stones to a future win.

Life is always offering a fresh new perspective if we choose to see it.  We all lose and others have made worst mistakes than you.  Be a gracious loser.  If perchance you’ve never lost, then maybe you’re not living life to its fullest and leaving a lot of money (and happiness) on the table.  There are no hopeless situations when you turn them into learning experiences and search for the silver lining.

African-American & Kinky Hair Types

Have you heard of the Andre Walker Hair Typing System™ ? No, well you and your hair are in for an amazing treat! This system has been the best way for African-American women to figure out their hair texture since the rebirth of the natural hair movement began. African-American women have been using this system for a few years now and it has saved many from spending unnecessarily on products that won’t work for their hair texture. With only four main hair types, each type ranges from two to three different textures that lets you know what your exact hair type is and how best to style your hair with Andre Walker Hair Care procuts. Once you’ve identified your hair type, Andre has created a haircare line called “The Gold System”, with each product made specifically for a certain hair texture. African-American women with kinky hair types won’t have to worry about wasting money and potentially damaging their hair thanks to Andre’s system. Read further in the post to learn more about the Hair Typing System and different hair textures to find your right match.

Type 1

Type 1 is the first type of hair texture on the system and if you’re in this category it means your hair type is straight.  Hair qualities are usually fine and fragile to coarse and thin hair; there’s no curls at all. The hair textures of this hair type ranges up to three listed as 1A, 1B and 1C. First type, 1A, has hair defined as thin and fine. The second type, 1B, has a mixture of thin and coarse hair. While the third texture, 1C, is coarse. This hair type is curl resistant and usually has the most sheen because the oils from the scalp can easily reach the ends of the hair. If you have this hair type, try Andre’s products geared towards type 1 hair textures.

Type 2

This is the second type on the system and if you’re in this category it means your hair type is wavy. Hair qualities are usually fine and thin to coarse and frizzy. Just like type 1, type 2 has three different hair textures known as 2A, 2B and 2C. 2A hair is defined as fine with a slight “S” wave at the ends of the hair; usually undefined and lacks volume. 2B has a little more definition in the “S” curl pattern with slight frizz at the top of the head. 2C texture is coarse with a lot of volume and the “S” curl is definitely defined. If you have this hair type, try Andre’s hair products for curly hair textures.

Type 3

Type 3 is the third hair type on the system and if you’re in this category it means your hair type is curly. Hair qualities are usually loose curls to corkscrew curls and only has 2 hair textures known as 3A and 3B.  3A hair is defined as a loopy “S” pattern and is usually more susceptible to frizz and losing curl definition. 3B textures have a smaller curl pattern then 3A and is more coarse and voluptuous. If you have this hair type, try Andre’s curly or kinky hair products.

Type 4

Type 4 is the last hair type on the system and if you’re in this category it means your hair is kinky. Hair qualities range from tight coils to z-angled coils and just like type 3, only has 2 hair textures; they’re 4A and 4B. 4A hair is defined as tightly coiled and has a tight “S” patterned curl, sometimes has a wiry and fine texture and has high density and fragility. 4B hair is defined as a “Z” shaped pattern with less of a defined curl. This hair texture is very fragile and can feel wiry and coarse with many strands packed tightly together. Both 4A and 4B experience shrinkage as well. If you have this hair type, try Andre’s kinky hair care products.

Thanks to Andre Walker, African-American women have been able to identify what works best for their kinky hair types and save money.  His system makes it easy to figure out what your hair type is all on your own and even offers recommendations for products he designed specifically for those hair types. Use the Andre Walker Hair Typing System ™ and never wonder again. Now, do you know what your hair type is?
